How we handle information when you use Parakh.

Last updated: 24 October 2026

Who we are

Parakh is a digital fact-checking app that helps people examine public claims, review supporting evidence, and understand how reliable a claim may be. Parakh is developed and offered as an in-house product of TCP Labs. For privacy questions or requests, contact us at tcp.theclarityproject@gmail.com.

Information we process

When you use Parakh, we process the text, links, screenshots, and optional context you submit; text read from images; claims, search queries, evidence, and reports generated for your check; and feedback or dispute details you send us. Do not submit private, confidential, or sensitive information unless you are comfortable sharing it with the providers described below.

The app creates a guest account with a random display name and avatar. We process an account identifier, an authentication session, app preferences, check and credit history, and—if you buy Pro—limited store transaction details needed to verify and maintain the subscription. Apple or Google processes payment details; Parakh does not receive your full payment card number.

Our hosting and security providers may process technical information such as IP address, device and request metadata, and error logs to operate, protect, and troubleshoot the service.

How we use information

We use submitted content to extract claims, find relevant sources, assess evidence, prepare your report, operate your history and dispute features, verify subscriptions, prevent abuse, and maintain the service. Reports are private by default. If you choose to publish or share a report, the information shown on its public page can be viewed by anyone with the link. Trending pages display selected claim and evidence summaries in aggregate; they do not display account names.

AI, search, and other service providers

To provide a check, Parakh sends relevant submitted text and, when needed, image content to the AI provider configured for the service (currently Google Gemini, with Anthropic available as a fallback). Search queries may be sent to Tavily, Google Fact Check Tools, ClaimBuster (when configured), Europe PMC, the RBI Database on Indian Economy, and GDELT to find published fact-checks, research papers, official data, or news coverage. These providers process requests under their own terms and privacy practices. Provider availability and data practices can change; review their current terms before submitting sensitive content. We do not sell submitted content.

Google Play and Apple handle in-app payments. Vercel hosts the API, and MongoDB Atlas stores app records. These providers process information as needed to deliver their services.

Retention and deletion

Submitted content is currently retained for up to 30 days. Reports and related account data are retained while the account is active. A short-lived evidence cache may retain claim and source results for up to three days to avoid repeating the same search. Session credentials expire after 30 days. Public reports remain accessible while you keep sharing enabled; turn sharing off or delete the report to remove the public page.

Self-service account deletion from the app is in development. If you record an in-app deletion request, we retain your account identifier, request count and request timestamps so we can track and review it. Recording a request does not delete your account or data. You may also contact tcp.theclarityproject@gmail.com. We may retain information where required for legal, payment, fraud-prevention, security, or dispute-resolution purposes, and removal from backups or provider systems may take additional time.

Security and international processing

We use reasonable safeguards intended to protect information, including access controls and encrypted connections where supported. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Our providers may process information in countries outside your own, subject to their terms and applicable law.

Children

Parakh is intended for adults and is not designed for children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, contact us at tcp.theclarityproject@gmail.com so we can review the request.

Informational use and liability notice

Parakh reports are automated, informational assessments of evidence available at the time of a check. They may be incomplete, outdated, or wrong and are not professional, legal, medical, financial, or emergency advice. Review the cited sources and use your own judgment before acting or sharing a report.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided on an “as available” basis, without warranties that cannot lawfully be excluded. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Parakh and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss arising from use of or reliance on the service. Nothing in this notice excludes or limits liability, consumer rights, or remedies that applicable law does not allow us to exclude or limit. This privacy policy is not a substitute for separately reviewed terms of use.

Your choices and policy updates

You can choose what to submit, keep reports private, and revoke public sharing. For account deletion, other privacy requests, or questions, contact tcp.theclarityproject@gmail.com. We may update this policy as the service changes. We will update the date above and provide additional notice when required.
